Dutch Cafe, Dive In, NY deli, and Room Service

In addition to the traditional main dining room and Lidl buffet, Holland America offers several informal dining options.
The Dutch Café is only found on the three pinnacle class ships. The Nieuw Amsterdam does not have a Dutch Café, so if you’re going on the Tahiti cruise in 2026 this menu will not apply. The coffee and tea found here can also be found in the observation lounge in the crows nest.

The dive in is your spot for burgers and hotdogs. Many people rave about the french fries too!

The New York deli is one of my favorite places to eat on board. Unfortunately, this is also only found on the three pinnacle class ships. If you are sailing on the Nieuw Amsterdam in 2026 this menu will not apply. Ironically, the Rubens in 2024 were terrible, but the Rubens in 2025 were my favorite lunch. Also note that this is the only place for late night food. I thought the chicken wings were excellent!

Holland America is one of the few mainstream lines to still offer complementary room service. It’s an excellent option for casual dining. For the first time in all of my cruises, every single room service order was perfectly correct. Of course I was ordering easy things like coffee and Cheerios and nothing complex. Although, on the first formal night, I did order two lobster tails delivered to the room because I did not feel like going to the dining Room. Tipping extra for room service delivery is not required, but I find it a pleasure to add a few bucks to the person who went out of their way to deliver coffee to my room.
